Third drama with this guy (still don’t know his name). First times were Dakara Koya and Tamiou (Kaibara-kun)!
Anyway, this drama is so damn messy lol

The future is ✨ BRIGHT ✨, my friends! I decided to “pass/fail” (so to speak) some dramas, but ended up passing most of them. I love having so many Japanese dramas to watch!

NOTE: I wrote this on May 1, where it continued to languish in my drafts until I finished Fire Emblem Fates (AGAIN) and realized that I didn’t have anything to do. And I finally started watching Japanese dramas again after not finishing any of the ones in my Winter ’16 post. Progress!
I’ll be honest. After Signal, I lost interest in watching any dramas. And how could I not? It was just… so much. SO MUCH PERFECTION! And you heard it here first — there’s nothing that will top it this year. I didn’t bother finishing any of the other ones I started either, and it probably didn’t help that I was in the middle of last minute travel prep and Fire Emblem Fates. I did watch some of Sanadamaru while I was in Japan and while it was very exciting to go to Osaka Castle (where I had a moment and realized why I kept seeing Sakai Masato’s face all over Osaka stations… lol), I wasn’t like “oh my gosh, gotta watch some dramas!”
Oh Hyuk (and band hyukoh) is one of my favorite things about Korean music these days. I listened to them a lot in the last year and just stumbled upon the music video by chance. It’s perfect. You can watch it here.
I think I’m going to drop this show, and not because I’m a Yoo Jung apologist, but because I really do feel bad for Park Haejin and I’m KIND OF a purist when it comes to adapations.
No, something I respect about the webtoon was that Inho kept a respectful distance while being so friendly and cute with the fam, and Seol obviously valued their friendship!!! But now it’s Cantabile in the Trap and that’s a shame considering how rich the source material is.
Always feels nice to watch a Japanese drama, especially since it’s so easy to watch Korean ones so regularly — I say this all the time. As usual, I’m not watching very many and I’m watching them intermittently due to availability and what not…
I’ve gotten a little lazy when it comes to dramas these days… I’m only watching 3 as opposed to something crazy like 5-6 at once. Just 3…
That damn ointment…
I don’t like the idea of inserting a loveline where it doesn’t need to be (and that includes shipping, which I’m normally OK with, but Signal seems SO not the show for this). That said…
Cha Soo-hyun’s affection for her beloved sunbae makes me want to cry 😫😫😫 I love her so much! I JUST WANT HER TO BE HAPPY… and I want her to have all the things. I mean ffs, she goes to the coroner every week just to see if his body turns up… my heart… ow
This transferring of team members to a meaningless department to placate public outcry about something or other is SO jdrama esque but I love it. I love it a lot
Instead of doing some mega essay about why so-and-so was my favorite in such-and-such category, I’m just gonna share highlights. It ended up being 1500+ words anyway. Here’s what I saw:

New record! And that’s even after taking a mini-break after Oh My Ghostess. Yes, it’s a lot. I’m not a college student anymore (for now anyway), and it’s easy to unwind by watching a drama episode or two after work. I usually watch a few at once and finish them around the same time (usually j-dramas because they’re on the same schedule, even though they’re subbed slower). That’s all there is to it!
Now onto this year in dramas:
