Yaaaay k-dramas.

Beautiful Mind / Beautiful Mind is exactly what I wanted I Remember You to be, and better. I can’t believe how good Jang Hyuk is, or that I even forgot! He’s electrifying. I know this drama had a lot of problems casting their lead actor (and even now I’m not all that impressed with Park So-dam — her character is so ambiguous, doesn’t have an actual point, and sometimes disappears for long stretches in an episode. This is probably the writer’s fault), but if this is what settling looks like then damn. Let me settle more often! LOL. One of the most interesting things to me is that Lee Young-oh is feared for his lack of humanity, but the truth of the matter is that everyone around him is slowly losing their own. Who’s the real monster? It’s a real shame that this drama was cut down by 2 episodes. — Episode 12
. . .
The Good Wife / Yes yes y’all! I admit, it’s been a really long time since I watched the Good Wife, so all I remember are bits and pieces of characters and story lines. It’s really like I’m going to it with fresh eyes and unbiased, which is a good way to do it! That said, this drama is INCREDIBLE. Jeon Do-yeon as Kim Hye-kyung is the absolute truth. I’ve only seen her through movies, and lol I can see why they’re paying her $$$$. She is so good. Hye-kyung is mature, composed, and human even in the face of her husband’s scandal and I love her chemistry with Taejoon.
Speaking of which… holy crap. The end of episode 6 aside (🔥💀🔥💀🔥!!!!!! asdasduhfudfhjdgl), they burn it the heck up. I knew it from he moment she slapped him in jail! Peter Florrick was just so gross to me in the original, but Lee Taejoon is somehow very bad and very delicious. And complicated! I know he wants to be good to Hye-kyung and asks for her forgiveness, but how much of it is his own greed and ambition? Sometimes (sometimes) he’s so grey that it makes it very difficult to root for Joongwon, who I love inexplicably. Honestly though, I would love nothing more than for Dan and Hye-kyung to ride off on a sponsored Kia into the sunset. — Episode 8
. . .
W / I want to get excited about W. It’s written by Song Jae-jung of Queen In-hyun’s Man and Nine, dramas that I really loved. I already know there’s going to be some interdimensional crazy and yet! I’m so indifferent. I really don’t care for Lee Jong-suk that much (he’s just one of those guys/has one of those faces), but I’ll try and give this a chance. I need to watch at least ONE hyped up drama this year. — Episode 2
. . .
The King 2 Hearts / Not watching King 2 Hearts actively, but it’s my drama of choice whenever I travel or need something to watch when I’m away from home. I think the quality of this drama is something you don’t really find in modern dramas these days, and I appreciate how big/grand they went with it. The concept is really interesting, too — South Korea is a constitutional monarchy! The crown prince is engaged to a North Korean soldier! Major hijinks ensue. Only time will tell if it’s been executed well, since I’m not even halfway through it (SMH) 😩😩😩 PS. Ha Ji-won is a gift. — Episode 8
Considering
Way too many!
– Moonlight Drawn by Clouds (I was convinced by this)
– Second to Last Love (but not before I watch the original Japanese version first)
– Age of Youth (#relatable)
– Squad 38 (because I have to watch at least one Seo In-guk drama a year)
– Scarlet Heart (it has IU, it has Lee Junki, it has Kang Haneul… but why do I feel like this will be a hot mess?)
– Fantastic (Joo Sang Wook in a comedy? GIMME)
