Double Tone (NHK) does a lot of overhead shots of various “work spaces”. I’m thinking it’s stylistic (Instagram culture?!), but it’s done so frequently that I wonder if there’s some kind of deeper significance.
I’m mostly caught up with Double Tone, and the first episode blew my mind a little bit! It’s like a simpler 49 Days with a seemingly sinister mystery, but the protagonists are privy to the fact that they are occupying each others’ dreams from the beginning.
Q: In episode two (after it is fully established that they are viewing each others’ daily actions via dreams and can communicate with one another), Tamura Yumi asks Ikuko if she knows a Takano Yumi. I wonder if this is why Ikuko was drawn to this other Yumi in the first place? So much so that she wanted to introduce her to Youhei when they first encountered each other. Very curious!

i just watched ep 4 today! love it! rarely see a drama like this
It was so good! This drama improves with every episode, but it’s really unfortunate that there are only two episodes left of the season. :(
Running off to get this now!
Enjoy!
those screencaps alone were enough to convince me to give this show a watch but seeing as how the plot is similar to 49 days, i’m *def* giving this a try.
I have a feeling you’re going to enjoy this. Come for the visuals (really nice filmography overall as well), stay for the story! It’s really too bad a show like this is criminally short. :T
