Mei-chan no Shitsuji is the type of drama I can really get attached to. I’m really loving the supporting cast so far; a well put together cast is pretty much destined for greatness (Hanazakari no Kimitachi e … and something like My Boss My Hero, I guess).
There are a couple things I’ve noticed with this drama, though:
The same artsy/”paper” effect is used for the ending sequence (Zettai Kareshi — for real, I got all sentimental when I capped the ending (ノД`)・゜・。–, Hanakimi)

JAPAN IS RUNNING OUT OF TALENT. Maybe I watch too many dramas and these actors & actresses are just showing up by coincidence.
- Shinobu (Lucia’s butler) = Tomekichi (Osen) = that one guy in Nodame Cantabile.
- Iwasa Mayuko has shown up in Hanakimi (“HIBARI FOOOOOOOUR”), Nodame, Celeb to Binbo Taro, Detective Conan 2, LIAR GAME — SHE IS EVERYWHERE.
- Rose’s butler is in LIAR GAME. This makes me lol because I imagine him with a sweet bowl haircut, an ascot and spittle flying all over the place from yelling like a mad man. Ha!
- Nezu = Oscar (Hanakimi). It is so hard for me to take him seriously.
- Eikura Nana (Mei) was in Proposal Daisakusen. The short haircut took me by surprise.
- And of course, Mizushima Hiro = Soshi (Zettai Kareshi) = Nanba (Hanakimi).
I really wasn’t interested in this drama when it first came out (I blame it on the sucktastic summary that’s been floating around), but I was bored on Saturday and marathoned all seven subbed episodes that same weekend. It’s a personal record! I love what I’m watching, so I’m hoping for the best in the coming episodes (aka more Rihito/Mei moments). :3
